ShiftView, a product of Visible Projects, is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information for users of the ShiftView workforce management platform, including administrators, managers, and employees who receive shift notifications.

Personal Information

• Employee details (name, phone number, email address)
• Work schedule and shift assignment data
• Administrator login credentials
• Attendance and clock-in/clock-out records
• WhatsApp message delivery and read receipts

Automatically Collected Information

• IP address and browser type
• Device information and operating system
• Pages visited and time spent on the platform

We use the collected information to:

• Create and manage employee work rosters and shift schedules
• Send shift notification messages via WhatsApp
• Track attendance and time records
• Process shift acceptance and query responses
• Provide workforce analytics and reports to administrators
• Improve the platform and user experience
• Comply with applicable labour and employment laws

ShiftView uses the official Meta WhatsApp Business API to send shift schedule notifications to employees. Messages are sent using pre-approved templates and contain only work-related information (shift times, dates, and locations). We do not use WhatsApp for marketing or promotional purposes. Employees may reply to messages to accept shifts or query their schedule.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)
• Secure cloud hosting with row-level security
• Regular security audits and monitoring
• Role-based access controls

We may share information with the following service providers:

• Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — for delivering shift notification messages
• Supabase — for secure database hosting
• Vercel — for application hosting

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by South African labour and tax legislation. Roster and attendance records are maintained as required by the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).

ShiftView is a workplace management tool and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
